Dear All,
Firstly, thank you so much for taking the time to visit my fotopage and to leave comments that inspired and aided me in my quest for knowledge and improvement. This is sharing of ideas!!
I am an amateur photographer who loves to shoot people, preferably candid. I shoot mainly in 200-300mm zoom range using my Nikkor 70-300 F4-5.6 G lens (which I think is the best value for money lens) hence that nice blurry background effect though a better lens will give a better bokeh.
Fotopage is an avenue to showcase my ‘creative side’ and visual representation of my most treasured memories. It has opened up a whole new world for me since I first posted late last year. Feels good!!!!
I would truly enjoy going for photo shoots and sharing ideas about photography or anything else over tea or coffee with anyone willing to make the time. My email is azlijamil@yahoo.com and my # is 019-2058100. My office is near KLCC so Starbucks, Pelita and Lotus are near.
Please keep visiting and commenting… Keep telling me and other visitors what you think. There is no right or wrong answer… Thank you again…
Have a very nice day…

Best regards,
Azli Jamil

Dear All,
Firstly, thank you very much to all who have visited and commented on my fotopage. Please keep visiting and commenting… Thank you again…
Being a people photographer, the task of photographing the magnificent structures at Angkor Archaeological Park and the exquisitely carved multi-hued Banteay Srei temple was, for the lack of a better word, daunting!!! I tried…
Stefan planned the trip very well where we saw most main sites on the first day. He also successfully negotiated with all our tuk-tuk drivers intent on getting more USD from us. Me? Taking photos, taking up more than half the seat of the tuk-tuk and kept telling Stefan to “Go ahead..” or “Slow down..”
I enjoyed our deep mental friendship and our 9 day adventures in Cambodia and Bangkok so much… So much… We had the most delightfully animated conversations interspersed with hearty laughter and smses nearly every day since December 17, 2005.
Sometimes we argued too…
A week ago, I said farewell to him and we haven’t spoken since…
I still feel the void…

Azli

ps: No. 1 and no. 9 are shown ‘as shot’. No white balance adjustments, no Photoshop, no cropping, no straightening... I want to show what I really saw…
Next posting is PEOPLE IN CAMBODIA…

As we walk the meandering path of life, we cross path with people who touch our lives, some more and some less. Sometimes, we will meet people who will have truly profound effect on us. I like to think I’m blessed coz that happened to me thrice…
7,166 days, 1,303 days and 47 days ago…
An American, a Thai, and a German…
A computer lab, a rugby field and a road at Pantai Panorama…
A ‘Hi’, a wave and a ride…
And my life changed for the better forever…
To me, bliss is to have dinner with all three of them. I bet that food would never tasted better... Unfortunately, it will never happen as I know that I will never see any of them again…
So, to Scott Lawrence Levy, Preedee Hongsaton and Stefan Andreas Hartl, from the bottom of my most sincere heart, thank you so much for all you bring to my life…

Azli Jamil

ps: Please pardon my self indulgence posting. Next posting is my Angkor Wat photos.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
My New Year resolution is to try and touch more lives with my photos.. Quite an uphill task, aye??
Each time I press the shutter release button, I often wonder whether I have managed to capture the best moment i.e the smile at its widest etc.
Are these hits or are these misses??
Your comments are highly appreciated... As I've written before, be brutal, if need be..
Thank you.. Have a nice day..

ps: The subjects in #9 saw me. So the only thing I could do was to ask them to make sure their feet were lined up properly
pps: FATHER AND SON are arriving tonight Donno where to take them for dinner..
Tomorrow night is Satay Kajang!!!!
